WITH the number of hits that BTS has been receiving, the K-Pop group is surely living up to its hangul name which literally translates to Bulletproof Boy Scouts.
Nothing seems to be stopping the seven-member hip hop sensation from Seoul, also known as the Bangtan Boys, from rising to the top.
Its official music video for Blood, Sweat & Tears, released earlier this week, reached more than six million views in less than 24 hours. At Press time, the music video had already went past the 12.3 million views mark.
The catchy tune is the lead song from BTS’ second and latest studio album, Wings.
Made up of fresh-faced 20-somethings — Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Rap Monster, Jimin, V and Jungkook — the group is no stranger to big numbers.
Enjoying an enormous social media presence, BTS was named by Forbes earlier this year as the most retweeted artiste on Twitter. This led to Twitter launching its first K-Pop Twitter emoji, featuring the popular group.
Since debuting in 2013, the group, formed by Big Hit Entertainment, has released 22 singles and produced 26 music videos.
The boys are known for a slew of hits, including House Of Cards, Ma City, Butterfly, Fire, Save Me, Run and I Need You, all of which are in the Top 10 ranking of Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart.
A force to be reckoned with in a live setting as well, the group garnered the Best World Performer award at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
Local fans got a taste of the group’s musical prowess at a concert in Kuala Lumpur mid last year. It was part of BTS’ world tour that also saw performances in Australia, the US, Hong Kong, Thailand, Mexico, Brazil and Chile.
