KUALA LUMPUR: British Royal Princess Anne is scheduled to arrive in Malaysia for a three day visit from Oct 29.
The princess, whose last visit to Malaysia was in 1972, will be hosted by the British High Commission on Saturday before departing to Kuching on Oct 30 to attend the Emerging Leaders Dialogue Asia event.
The dialogue, hosted by the Commonwealth Study Conference Association of Malaysia (COSCAM) and Association of Emerging Leaders' Dialogue (AELD) started yesterday and will end on Nov 1.
In Kuching, Princess Anne, who is a patron of the Association of Emerging Leaders Dialogue, which is under the flagship of the Commonwealth will attend a welcome dinner for participants hosted by the Sarawak government.
Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem and Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem will attend to the British royal during her stay in Kuching.
The dialogue, which involves 82 participants from 25 countries, is themed "Leadership for Sustainable Development".
The participants will attend study tours in the Klang Valley, Malacca, Johor, Pahang, Sabah as well as Sarawak before travelling to Kuching for the state dinner.
For the first time, the event has also been extended to non-member states such as Thailand, Cambodia and the Philippines.
The dialogue started as a Commonwealth Study Conferences in 1956. It was founded by Princess Anne’s father, The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip.
