KUALA LUMPUR: Maybank Islamic Bhd is targeting to grow the new Maybank Islamic Petronas Ikhwan Visa card-i holders by 27 per cent next year following the enhancement of the card’s features.
This year, Maybank Islamic expects to secure 54,000 new card holders, adding to the current figure of 150,000 since it collaborated with Visa and Petronas in 2008.
Maybank Islamic chief executive officer Datuk Mohamed Rafique Merican said the company is confident that the improved cash back feature, together with the promotion campaign, will create excitement in the market.
"This campaign is part of our ongoing efforts to reward customers through our comprehensive range of products and services.
"We expect this refreshed Maybank Islamic Petronas Ikhwan Visa card-i will further strengthen our position as the leading card issuer in the Islamic segment," he said at the announcement ceremony here today.
As of June 2016, Maybank Islamic's market share for the Islamic credit card segment stood at 29 per cent.
With the newly-enhanced card, holders can enjoy eight per cent cash back for weekend spending at Petronas stations, and one per cent cash back when they spend on weekdays, capped at RM50 a month.
Apart from the improved cash back feature, card members also stand a chance to win 88 weekly prizes of 8,888 Mesra points when making a total transaction of RM200 per week at any retail outlet, with at least a RM50 spend at Petronas stations.
Besides that, card members also stand a chance to win 88 bonus prizes of 88,888 Mesra points each time they spend a total of RM1,000 at any retail outlet with a minimum spend of RM200 at Petronas stations.
