KLANG: Two people were killed when a piling rig at a construction site in Jalan Astana, Meru collapsed and fell onto a passing car earlier today.
The 12.30pm incident saw both victims -- a man and woman believed to be in their 50s -- killed on the spot due to serious head injuries.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (Operations) Mohd Sani Harul said the victims were pronounced dead by a team of paramedics.
He said the department were alerted to the incident at 12.35pm and dispatched a team of seven firemen from Sungai Pinang fire station to the scene.
It is learnt that the victims' bodies were sent to the Tuanku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital here.
Details on their identities and how the incident happened have yet to be ascertained.
