SHAH ALAM: Two workers were killed when they were buried and crushed by the concrete wall of a drain which collapsed at the Elmina Ridge construction site in Denai Alam U15.
Deputy district police chief Superintendent Ramsay Embol said three workers were installing the wall about 10.15am when the soil at the side of the drain suddenly gave way.
This caused the wall to break and fall on one of the workers, while another was buried under the soil. The third worker escaped without injury.
The two victims, Bangladeshis aged 25 and 30, suffered severe head and body injuries.
They were pronounced dead at the scene.
It was reported earlier that two workers were believed to have been killed after they were buried in a landslide incident at the construction site.
Rescuers managed to recover both bodies, the first being at 11.12am.
Ramsay urged anyone with information on the incident to contact the investigating officer, Inspector Saipol Paizi Zainol, who is also Bukit Jelutong police station chief, at 012-5781435.
