KUANTAN: The High Court today threw out a lawsuit by 770 Felda settlers against Felda and a related entity over alleged fraud and breach of trust.
In a judgement read out by judge Datuk Seri Mariana Yahya today, she ruled that the plaintiffs failed to prove that Felda and Felda Palm Industries Sdn Bhd had engaged in a conspiracy to defraud them (plaintiffs).
She noted that the plaintiffs' four witnesses offered weak testimonies during hearing of the suit.
In April 2012, the plaintiffs, who were from Felda Chini and Felda Chini Timur in Pekan, filed the suit, seeking over RM13.6million allegedly owed to them.
The plaintiffs claimed among others that Felda Palm Industries had been grading their yield of oil palm lower than it should have been.
