KUALA LUMPUR: Rising track cycling star Muhammad Shah Firdaus Sahrom bagged the bronze medal in the elite men's keirin event at the Track Cycling World Cup in Los Angeles, the United States.
The 22-year-old rider was in a head-to-head race in the competition before Colombia's Fabian Hernando Puerta Zapata and Canadian rider, Hugo Barrette crossed the finish line just ahead of him for the gold and silver respectively.
Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin expressed his delight, praising Muhammad Shah for his feat on Twitter.
"Remember this guy. The future of Malaysian track cycling is bright," he tweeted. -- Bernama
