MERCEDES-BENZ Malaysia Sdn Bhd has launched its new RM74 million headquarters — the Wisma Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Training Academy - in Puchong, Selangor.
The new building will enable the company to remain consistent in providing a high level of service, expertise and reliability to its customers, including its commercial vehicle segment.
“Malaysia is an important market for the Mercedes-Benz brand. The lead we have taken in the premium vehicle segment indicates the trust customers have in our vehicles and service quality,” said its president and chief executive officer, Dr Claus Weidner, at the launch of the new facility.
The Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Training Academy features a fully-equipped workshop that simulates real-world workplaces, with the Daimler AG Global Training standard’s state-of-the-art equipment installed in the purposefully-built training rooms.
“The training academy is able to train students to work with the latest energy efficient vehicle to enhance the Mercedes-Benz services in the future,” said Claus.
Previously, the academy recruited 28 students annually with only one intake a year.
“This year, we target to recruit about 60 students annually. The course is free, but students have to go through an interview. It takes about three years to finish, with a three-year guaranteed employment upon completion,” he said.
Claus said the company will continue its efforts to enhance the experience of customers whenever they encounter the Mercedes-Benz brand.
“Mercedes-Benz Malaysia will continue investing in our dealer network and in enhancing all customer touchpoints nationwide. We will also continue to extend our unwavering support to the nation’s ambition of becoming an EEV hub in line with global standards,” Claus said.
The six-storey industrial facility has been accredited as the first green industrial building in Subang Jaya, and was awarded with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design’s gold certification.
