Wu Bai to rock Arena of Stars

DUBBED the King of Chinese Rock, Taiwanese rock singer/songwriter Wu Bai commands huge respect amongst followers and critics alike. He and his band China Blue are now celebrating their 25th anniversary in the music industry and remain a force to be reckoned with.

Their contributions to the music scene are greatly valued for the new style they have introduced as well as their consistent efforts to reinvent it.

Total Recall — Wu Bai And China Blue 2017 Rock Hits Concert will be held at the Arena of Stars on April 1.

China Blue comprises Shiao Ju on bass, Big Cat (keyboards) and Dina Zavolta (drums). The trio is renowned for helping revolutionise Taiwanese rock.

Wu Bai And China Blue have 14 albums in total and have held thousands of concert performances all over the world.

Wu Bai not only earned commercial success but also critical acclaim from around the world. While Singapore has dubbed him King of Chinese Rock, the San Jose Mercury News in the US settled for King of Rock.

What is Wu’s secret to success? He is a charismatic performer whose songs contain lyrics that touch the heart. He has been quoted as saying that fans find his songs meaningful and love singing along to them whenever they watch him perform.

This concert promises to be an energetic display of musical brilliance. Fans can expect an electrifying experience, complete with pyrotechnics and much fanfare.

Having won awards for his albums, his songs have also topped various music charts.

Wu, who write his own tunes, has penned songs for many other popular artistes as well, such as Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, Faye Wong, Karen Mok, Vivian Hsu, Alan Tam, Nicolas Tse and Jolin Tsai.

Wu first found fame in the 1990s, especially with the release of his second album Wanderer’s Love Song in 1994.

The album sold more than 600,000 copies in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.

In 1996 came the smash hit album, The End Of Love, which sold over 600,000 copies and was one of the year’s Top 10 albums.

The hit single, Norwegian Forest, captured the public’s imagination and still ranks as the No.1 karaoke favourite in Mandarin music.
