SERIAN: A senior policeman with the rank of inspector is believed to have shot dead his wife at her house in Kampung Kakai near here, today.
The body of the victim, so far identified only as Christie, was found by her mother after she heard the sound of a gunshot at about 4pm.
Sources said the mother of the victim had alleged that the murderer was her son-in law, who is the head of a police station in one of the sub-district in Sarawak.
“The mother of the victim also claimed that the suspect immediately fled the house in a Proton Saga after the incident,” sources said.
It was learnt that the police has launched a manhunt for the suspect, who is from Perlis.
A police spokesman confirmed the case but decline to comment as the case was under investigation.
