SEPANG: Indonesian Siti Aisyah, one of the accused in the murder of North Korean Kim Chol, complained of shortness of breath and cried during the tour at the scene at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2) today.
Earlier, Aisyah, 25, and another accused Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong, 28, were taken to the airport's departure hall as part of the murder trial proceedings to verify the closed circuit television (CCTV) recordings which were previously shown in the Shah Alam High Court.
Tired of moving around the airport in a bulletproof vest, about 45 minutes into the tour, Aisyah complained that she was having difficulty breathing and cried when they were taken to the taxi ticketing counter at level 1.
Both Aisyah and Doan then had to be pushed on wheelchairs to move around and complete the three and a half hour site visit.
The entourage which drew public attention began their tour at the self check-in kiosk area at the airport's departure hall where Kim Chol was believed to have be killed using the highly toxic liquid nerve agent VX.
They then moved to Bibik Heritage, a restaurant where Aisyah was seen in the CCTV recording meeting with a man identified as Mr Chang minutes before the murder.
The tour began at 9.45am.
Selangor prosecution director Muhammad Iskandar Ahmad said judge Datuk Azmi Ariffin had ordered the tour of the scene to be divided into three trips so that he (Azmi) could get a clear picture in retracing the steps taken by the victim and the two accused during the incident.
Iskandar said the entourage was taken to visit 10 locations within the airport terminal. Among them were the toilet where Doan was seen entering in the CCTV footage, Menara Medical Clinic where Kim Chol received treatment after allegedly being smeared by the nerve agent and the Family Mart convenience store located at level 3.
"The pillar near Family Mart was believed to be the location where Doan had smeared something onto a person's face two days before the murder incident," he said.
The entourage was excorted by about 300 personnel from the Special Task Force On Organised Crime (Stafoc) wearing black masks and uniforms, from D9 and Special Branch.
Ninth prosecution witness, investigating officer Assistant Superintendent Wan Azirul Nizam Che Wan Aziz who handled the case was also at the scene to assist the judge on the locations which were seen in the CCTV footage.
The proceedings concluded at 1.10pm and will resume at the Shah Alam High Court tomorrow morning.
Siti Aisyah and Doan are charged with murdering Kim Chol, 45, along with four others still at large.
The duo had allegedly committed the offence at the klia2 departure hall around 9am on Feb 13.
Kim Chol was claimed to be Kim Jong-nam, the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
