GOMBAK: A Grab driver was found dead in his vehicle at a parking lot in Taman Selayang Makmur, Selayang here last night.
The 27-year-old was discovered in the back seat of his Perodua Myvi in an inverted position, with his head on the floor and his legs upright.
The body was discovered at 8.20pm by a police motorcycle patrol unit based at the Selayang Baru hut.
The policemen were responding to a request by the deceased’s stepfather to check on his vehicle.
“When they arrived at the location, they found the victim in the back seat, upside down.
“A team from the Selayang Hospital arrived at the scene soon after, and confirmed that the man was dead,” said Gombak district deputy police chief Superintendent Tey Kong Seng.
An initial investigation found no wounds or marks on the victim’s body, which was sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem, he added.
“Further investigation found that there are no CCTVs in the area, and that there are no witnesses to the (man’s death). We also found no weapon or suspicious item in the vehicle,” Tey continued.
The man’s name was not released, but Tey revealed that he was originally from Nilai, Negri Sembilan.
The case is being investigated with the help of the Forensic Unit of the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters, he added.
