KAJANG: A man was detained by the National Anti-Drug Agency (Nada), a week after he was released from the Kajang prison.
The 47-year-old man was arrested while waiting for bus at Jalan Reko in an operation held last week.
Hulu Langat Nada chief officer, Muhamad Ramlan Syed Ahamad, said investigation revealed that the man, who tested positive for drugs, had just been released from prison for drug possession.
“Checks on the man’s record revealed that he had committed 25 offences including burglary, theft and drug-related cases.
“Urine test on the man turned out positive for syabu, heroin and cannabis,” he said when contacted today.
Ramlan said the man was among the 19 people, aged between 18 and 55, detained in the operations conducted in Kajang, Bangi, Batu 9, Semenyih and Hulu Langat.
They were sent to Nada’s Hulu Langat office for further actions under Section 3 (1) of the Drug Dependants Act (Treatment and Rehabilitation) 1983.
