Motorcycle crash victim robbed by 'Good Samaritans'

MELAKA: Police are investigating after a man said he was robbed by three individuals who helped him after an accident near Bachang, here, on Wednesday.

The victim, Muhamad Haikal Zaid, 24, was riding his motorcycle to a job interview in Batu Berendam when he was involved in a crash with a car at 2.15pm.

He said as he was lying on the ground and in pain, two men and a woman came and offered to take him to the hospital.

"They said it will take a long time if I waited for an ambulance and offered to take me to the hospital with their van.

"Suspecting nothing, I obliged. One of the men even rode my motorcycle to the Melaka Hospital," he said.

At the hospital, he said the trio took all his belongings "for safe keeping" and left him with only his identity card.

"They promise to return them after I received treatment for my injuries but never came back." he said, adding that he had lodged a police report on the incident.

"I lost everything... my motorcycle, handphone, wallet, certificates and other related documents needed for the job interview. All I have is the MyKad." he said.
