IPOH: A senior citizen was found murdered with his body chopped into six parts in Kampung Kanthan Baru, here, today.
The remains of You Su Kim, 74, were found in a 1.5 metre deep sewage tank and a hole that was dug up behind his home.
The dreadful discovery was made by the victim's daughter at about 9am today after noticing blood on a mattress, pillow and wall of You's house.
The victim's head was also severed in the incident.
Perak Criminal Investigation Department head Senior Assistant Commissioner Yahya Abd Rahman said following the discovery, police arrested the victim's son, 52, at about 1.30pm.

"After he was arrested, the suspect led police to a long machete measuring about 0.6 metre, believed to have been used to chop up the victim," Yahya said.
"The blood-stained weapon was discovered in a room in their house," he informed when met at the scene of the crime.
Yahya added that the suspect was believed to have acted in a vicious manner after his father repeatedly scolded him for taking syabu in the house.
He said police also believe the suspect was under the influence of drugs when he allegedly murdered his father.
Elaborating on You's remains, Yahya said his hands, legs and head were buried in a hole, believed to have been dug up by the suspect.
Meanwhile, the victim's torso was tossed into a sewage tank.
"Police believe the victim was killed around midnight and one of the victim's daughters, who lives nearby, claimed she heard her father and brother argue at about 9pm.
"Investigation is being carried out under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder and the victim's remains have been sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital's forensics department for post-mortem," he added.
Meanwhile, You's daughter who only wanted to be known as Yong said she came by her father's house to check on him this morning, as she was worried about the argument last night.
