KUALA LUMPUR: Khairul Izaini Khairuddin, 31, better known as “Boy Tiger”, accused of abusing his three-year-old stepson to death, has been remanded for seven days to facilitate an investigation into the case.
The remand order was issued by Ampang Court Magistrate Haslinda A. Raof at 11am on Tuesday.
Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Hamzah Alias said the man would be remanded till Nov 19.
Also remanded was the suspect’s wife, Noraini Samian, 20, who is also the mother of the victim.
However, the remand order on Noraini was read before her at the Kajang Hospital as she is still receiving treatment after giving birth to a baby boy at a homestay in Hulu Langat on Monday morning.
“The duo were remanded for seven days to facilitate an investigation into the death of the 3-year-old toddler under Section 302 of the Penal Code,” said Hamzah briefly when contacted.
Khairul Izaini, who was wearing a black T-shirt, arrived at the Ampang Magistrate’s Court at 11am.
Last Thursday, the couple fled after Ampang Hospital medical officers confirmed the death of Muhammad Khairil Akmal Abdul Rahman, 30 minutes after he was sent to the hospital for treatment.
The duo were arrested by the police at Kajang Hospital at 11am.
