KUANTAN: An administrative assistant with the Pahang Youth and Sports Department pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here today to two counts of criminal breach of trust (CBT), involving RM2,250.
Mohd Hisham Mohd Kamaruddin, 34, from Felda Jengka 21, Maran near here, made the plea before judge Mohd Ghazali Mohamad Taib.
He was charged with committing the offence by using the rental payment for Dewan Kompleks Rakan Muda Bera, which was supposed to be deposited into the account of the Accountant-General’s Department, for his personal use.
Both the offences were committed at the Bera Youth and Sports Department office on Feb 10, 2017, involving rental payment of RM800 and on March 28, 2017, involving RM1,450.
The charges were framed under Section 409 of the Penal Code, which provides an imprisonment for up to 20 years and whipping, and is liable to a fine, if found guilty.
Mohd Hisham was allowed bail of RM8,000 in one surety for both charges. He posted the bail.
The court set Dec 14 for mention.
Deputy public prosecutor from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Siti Sarah Zainal Abidin prosecuted, while Mohd Hisham was represented by lawyer Syadzuwan Noor Adzman. – Bernama
