KOTA KINABALU: A South Korean tour guide was arrested after being found to have syabu in a raid at a condominium here.
In the 12pm raid, the suspect, in his 40s, was arrested by the police from the Kota Kinabalu Police Headquarters Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division.
Kota Kinabalu police chief Assistant Commissioner Habibi Majinji said checks at the condominium unit which the suspect is renting found a plastic bag containing syabu.
“The plastic bag believed to have contained syabu weighs 2.25g. The suspect, who works as a tour guide, and all seized items were brought to the headquarters for further investigation,” he said when contacted today.
Habibi said a urine screen test found the suspect positive for methamphetamine.
“The suspect, who’s been living here since 2014, had been arrested before for the same offence. He is now remanded until Jan 6 to facilitate investigation,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 12(2) of Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 15(1)(a) of the same Act.
