KOTA BARU: Kelantan police will assist their counterpart in Thailand to look for the five men suspected to be involved in the shooting of a 28-year-old Malaysian man in Sungai Golok, Thailand on Sunday.
State police chief Datuk Hasanuddin Hassan said at the moment, the Thai police have yet to seek their assistance on the matter.
"Although it involved a Malaysian, I can't give you (the Press) the full details on the case because the shooting happened in Thailand.
"Any further information should come from the police there but we will cooperate in locating the suspects if they have fled this way," he told reporters today.
The victim, identified as Mohamad Faisal, from Rantau Panjang, was shot dead near a cemetery in Sungai Golok, early Sunday.
According to witnesses, the victim was spotted quarreling with a group of five men at the scene.
When the altercation turned aggressive, Mohamad tried to flee but two of the men pulled out their pistols and shot him.
All the suspects then fled on two motorcycles.
