KKUALA LUMPUR: Three Kelantan-based policemen have been transferred after being caught visiting an entertainment outlet in Golok, Thailand.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain confirmed that the cops, aged 26 to 32, had partied at the venue.
"One of them has been reassigned to a different department, while the other two will be transferred out of the state police contingent," he said when contacted earlier today.
He said they have repeatedly warned their personnel and officers against committing misconduct that taints the police force's image.
"Stern action will be taken without compromise against those guilty of misconduct.
"This includes action under Rule 3C of the Public Officers Regulations (Conduct and Discipline) 1993," he said.
Earlier today, Razarudin said Bukit Aman agreed with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's stance that misconduct within the force 'is shown no quarter'.
He had said police leadership would not compromise with any personnel found guilty of misconduct or criminal offences.
"We have constantly reminded our personnel that their actions directly affect the image of the police force.
"We have not and will not hesitate to take stern action against those who tarnish our badge," he was quoted as saying.
