IPOH: The Magistrate's court here today granted a three-day remand order against the husband of a YouTube sensation for allegedly abusing his wife.
The remand order against the 29-year-old accused was issued by deputy registrar Nabihah Mohd Noor.
Clad in purple lock-up attire, the man who was handcuffed arrived at the court compound in a police van at about 10am.
According to a source, the argument between the man and his 28-year-old wife broke out at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital's (HRPB) parking space at 10pm on Monday.
"The argument continued the next day where the man wanted to go to the hospital to find the wife's sister. The man who was under the influence of alcohol had called up the wife's sister to meet her but to no avail. This led the man hitting his wife.
"At about 5.54pm on the same day, the hospital's guard house received a call from a nurse saying that a drunk man armed with a grass sickle was about to enter the hospital's Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ward," he said.
The source said the man was looking for his wife's brother-in-law following family problems.
The remand order was to facilitate investigations under Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offences Weapon Act 1958.
District police chief, Assistant Commissioner A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz when contacted, confirmed the matter.
