KOTA BARU: Kelantan police today confirmed that they have received a report on a group of people who have violated the Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) by travelling interstate to attend a friend's wedding.
State police chief Datuk Shafien Mamat said the report against the group of social media personalities was lodged yesterday evening.
He did not disclose details on the complainant but said police have started investigations into the case.
"Following the issue that went viral recently which showed pictures of several individuals who had attended the wedding ceremony of their friend in Kota Baru, police are investigating the case.
"The pictures also showed that there is no physical distancing among them while sitting near the newlywed couple. They also did not wear the face masks," he said in a statement today.
Shafien said, based on comments by netizens, many were not happy.
Therefore, he said, police would track down these people for flouting the SOP under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act.
