PETALING JAYA: The husband of a nanny was today charged at the magistrate's court with sodomising a nine-month old baby and killing the boy who was under the care of his wife.
Mohamed Badruldin Mohamed only looked down as he was escorted by the police into the courtroom to avoid photographers from taking his photo.
The 36-year old was charged with two counts before magistrate Muhammad Iskandar Zainol.
According to the first charge, the accused who is an unemployed had murdered the baby boy at a low-cost flat of PPR Lembah Subang in Jalan PJU 1A/42, between 8am and 3.30pm on April 27.
The offence under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries a mandatory death sentence.
On the second count, Badruldin was accused with committing unnatural sex on the same victim at the same place and time.
He faces a maximum 20 years jail and whipping, if convicted of the offence under Section 377C of the Penal Code.
No plea was recorded from him for the murder charge and he pleaded not guilty to the charge under Section 377C.
The accused was not allowed bail and his case will be up for mention on June 15.
Deputy public prosecutor Alison Chan May Kam prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.

In a press conference yesterday (Tuesday), Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the autopsy performed on the victim showed that there were tear marks on the anus, which is believed to have been caused by the insertion of a blunt object, and the area around the baby's mouth was covered with bruises.
It was believed that the baby's mouth was covered with the suspect's hands leading to suffocation and (subsequently) causing death.
