BALIK PULAU: Two men, who illegally crossed district lines for a shopping excursion, were slapped with a RM5,000 compound each today for the offence.
The duo, aged 26 and 33, were nabbed at the Queensbay Mall here, located in the southwest district.
Southwest district police chief Superintendent A.A. Anbalagan said police came across the duo at the mall during their checks around 3.30pm today.
Checks on their identity cards showed that both their addresses were in the northeast district.
"When we asked for documents which allowed them to cross district lines, they could not produce any.
"The compound officer then issued a RM5,000 compound to each of the men," he said.
