Cops seek info on viralled NKVE road bully incident

SHAH ALAM: Police are seeking public information on a road bully case on the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) near the Bukit Raja Selangor toll plaza on Sunday.

The incident was captured by a dash cam in the victim's vehicle.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the 57-second video of a man terrorising the other driver has since gone viral on social media.

He said a 41-year woman, who works as an operations manager, lodged a report at the Section 6 police station at 4.20pm the same day.

"The complainant was driving to Shah Alam from Taman Melawati, accompanied by her husband.

"Initial investigations revealed that the incident occurred on the NKVE near the Bukit Raja Selangor toll on Aug 21, 2022, about 2.50pm," he said in a statement.

The driver noticed a man driving a white Honda who was dissatisfied with her changing lane, said Iqbal.

She said the man halted his car in front of her vehicle on the highway lane, he said.

"The suspect then alighted from his car and started shouting at the woman and her husband with vulgar words.

"As the man was about to leave, the complainant said she noticed the suspect throwing an unidentified object towards her car. No physical altercation occurred."

Iqbal said the case was being investigated under Section 279 of the Penal Code for rash driving, which carries a maximum penalty of six months' jail and RM2,000 fine.

He said police have recorded a statement from another vehicle owner and are identifying the suspect for further investigation.

Those with information on the incident may contact investigating officer Inspector Mohd Syer Aidid Rusazman Sharan at 019-2223361.
