KLANG: Celebrity preacher, Azman Syah Alias, also publicly known as PU Azman has been charged with committing sexual conduct and communication, as well as extreme obscenity towards three teenage boys in February, June and August this year.
The 41-year-old claimed trial to all the charges read at two different courts, here, today.
The accused pleaded not guilty before Sessions Court judge Syafeera Mohd Said and Magistrate Amirul Asyraf Abd Rasid.
At Sessions Court, he was charged with two counts of committing physical sexual conduct towards 17-year-old victims at a homestay in Sungai Udang, here, around 12.15am on February 20 and again on June 29, around 1am.
He was also charged with one count of encouraging another 17-year-old victim to communicate sexually through WhatsApp, between 4pm and 7.30pm at a house in Kampung Meru, near here on August 16.
The physical sexual charges were framed under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offenses Against Children Act 2017, which carries a maximum of 20 years' jail and whipping, while the sexual communication charges were framed under Section 11(1)(b) of the Offenses Against Children Act 2017 which provides imprisonment of up to three years.
At the Magistrate's Court, Azman Syah was charged with one count of committing extreme obscenity against a 19-year-old boy at a house in Jalan Sungai Bertek near here, around 9.15pm on 10 June.
These charges were framed under Section 377D of the Penal Code which carries imprisonment of up to two years, if convicted.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Qistini Qamarul Abrar prosecuted, while Azman Syah was represented by Lawyers Fahmi Adilah and Mohamad Zahid Ahmad.
The courts then ordered RM24,000 bail for all charges with an additional condition that the accused stay away from the victims, family and prosecution witnesses, besides reporting to the nearest police station at the beginning of every month.
The courts have fixed January 12 next year for case re-mention.
PU Azman in October has been charged in the Seremban Sessions Court with five charges of sexually assaulting two teenage boys in February and July.
