KUALA LUMPUR: Businessman Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad's two graft cases, which were previously charged in Shah Alam Sessions Court, have been transferred to two separate Sessions Court, here, this morning.

The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Segambut deputy division chief was charged on Feb 22 for allegedly receiving RM2 million from Lian Tan Chuan as an incentive to help Nepturis Sdn Bhd to obtain the North Klang District Headquarters Project from the government worth RM141 million between April 4, last year and Jan 5 this year.

The 42-year-old businessman was also charged, on Feb 22, at Shah Alam Sessions Court for allegedly receiving an RM2.1 million bribe from the managing director of MIE Infrastructure and Energy Sdn Bhd, Mat Jusoh Mamat, as a kickback for the company to secure the Sungai Adam to Sungai Banat road project in Perlis worth RM47.8 million between Nov 26, 2021, and Dec 2 last year.

He, at the time, pleaded not guilty and claimed trial to the two charges before Sessions Court judge Rozilah Salleh.

Today, the Sessions Court judge Azura Alwi allowed Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Siti Amirah Muhammad Ali's application to transfer one of Adam Radlan's cases, which involved the RM2 million he allegedly received from Nepturis Sdn Bhd as an incentive, to Sessions Court, here.

The accused, again, pleaded not guilty and claimed trial to the charge after it was read out to him before Azura, today.

The judge also allowed DPP's application to have the case be tried together with another one of Adam Radlan's cases involving the same amount of bribe and the same company.

Previously, Adam Radlan, on Feb 28, was charged before Azura for allegedly asking RM2 million from the Lian Tan Chuan as an incentive to help Nepturis Sdn Bhd to get a contract for the Klang Utara District Police Headquarters project that is worth RM141 million.

Azura then ordered for the bail to be tied together with his other case that she presided and fixed July 14 for mention.

Later, Adam Radlan's other case, involving the RM2.1 million he allegedly received from MIE Infrastructure and Energy Sdn Bhd was also transferred to Sessions Court, here.

Sessions Court judge Siti Aminah Ghazali allowed DPP Natrah Fareha Rahmat's application this morning.

Adam Radlan also pleaded not guilty and claimed trial to the charge after it was read out to him again, before Siti Aminah.

The court also ordered for bail to be tied together with another case, involving the same company that was presided over by Sessions Court judge Suzanna Hussain, before setting July 14 for mention.

Adam Radlan, on Feb 21, pleaded not guilty to two counts of soliciting and accepting a RM500,000 bribe in relation to the Jana Wibawa programme before Suzanna.

He was charged with one count of soliciting a bribe from MIE Infrastructure and Energy Sdn Bhd managing director Mat Jusoh Mamat, as a kickback for the company to obtain a letter of agreement for a project under Jana Wibawa, and one count of accepting a RM500,000 bribe from Mat Jusoh for the company to obtain a road construction project worth RM47.8 million.

All of Adam Radlan's five graft charges were each framed under Section 16(a)(a) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009 and punishable under Section 24 of the same act, which carries up to 20 years in jail and a fine of not less than five times the amount of the bribe or RM10,000, whichever is higher, upon conviction.
