SELAYANG: The police officer known as "Inspector Sheila" claimed that as of today, she was never served any letter of suspension from the force.
The woman, whose registered name is S.K. Sheila Sharon, briefly told reporters so when met after today's proceedings at the Selayang Magistrate's Court, where she was charged before Magistrate Chai Guan Hock and Magistrate Nur Hafizah Rajuni separately.
Inspector Sheila said the statement made by Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail on June 22, claiming she had been suspended, surprised her.
"I was never suspended. That is why I was surprised, on why the Home Minister issued a statement when until today, I haven't received any letter of suspension."
She was accompanied by her lawyer M. Manoharan, who confirmed to the press that they will not be sending any letter of representation to the Attorney-General (A-G) Chambers to review the charges.
"She is a clean, honest and a dedicated officer that holds a lot of potential.
"She comes from a good family, where her father, who is also her bailor, was a former police officer with Assistant Superintendent rank who had served the force for 39 years before this. And she (Sheila) herself has been with the force for seven years.
"We want justice. I'm not going to tolerate this (charges).
"I will not be sending any representation, and we will fight till the end," he said.
