KUALA LUMPUR: Investigation papers into the alleged corruption in foreign worker recruitment deals involving officers at Human Resources Ministry will be submitted to the deputy public prosecutor's office in two weeks' time.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the investigation was in the final stages of completion.
"On our side, the investigations are at the final stage and we will then submit the files to the deputy public prosecutor's office for their consideration, maybe in two weeks' time," he told reporters after attending World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) 2023 Integrity Day today.
Azam was responding to a question on the updates of MACC's investigations into officers at the ministry.
Present was WTCKL managing director Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim.
It was previously reported that two aides of Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar and a recruitment agent were arrested by the MACC in connection with a case involving the quota for foreign worker recruitment, which is under the purview of his ministry.
On May 9, Sivakumar confirmed that five of his officers implicated in the investigations have had their contracts terminated.
He said the officers were removed from their posts to ensure the ministry "functioned smoothly".
The DAP member of parliament for Batu Gajah however declined to say who had ordered the termination to take place.
