MUAR: A 22-year-old man, who travelled 300km to rape a minor on numerous occassions since March has been nabbed by police last night.
It was learnt that the fast food chain worker travelled between Kuala Pilah, Negri Sembilan to Bukit Kepong here to meet with the 14-year-old girl at an oil palm plantation.
The incidents came to light when the victim's brother noticed that she disappeared a few times at about 1.30am.
Muar district police chief Assistant Commissioner Raiz Mukhlis Azman Aziz said the victim's brother eventually found out about what had happened to his younger sister.
A report was lodged at the Bukit Kepong police station yesterday.
"Preliminary investigations found that the incident happened in March and the last time was last month.
"From the information received, the suspect will contact the victim first before they meet in the oil palm plantation behind the house."
Raiz Mukhliz said following the police report, the suspect was detained.
The magistrate's court here issued a week-long remand order against the suspect starting today.
A remand order was issued by magistrate Fatin Dalilah Khalid to allow investigations to be carried out under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.
