MUAR: "Please, ask anyone for help," pleaded a cleaning company worker, requesting his family to raise funds for bail after being accused of raping a school girl two years ago.
She subsequently gave birth in June last year.
The accused, Muhammad Zuladha Ferhad Zuraini, 23, appeared before the Sessions Court here today, where he pleaded guilty after the charges were read out by an interpreter in front of
Judge Abu Bakar Manat.
According to the charges, Zuladha, was accused of raping the 13-year-old victim at his home between August and November 2022.
He is being charged under Section 376 (1) of the Penal Code.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Danial Munir prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.
The court granted a bail of RM8,000 with one surety and set Aug 18 for the prosecution to present the facts and sentencing.
At the same time, the court has ordered the accused to report to the Muar district police headquarters at the beginning of each month and prohibited him from contacting or communicating with the victim and her family.
According to reports, the accused's actions were uncovered when the victim experienced dizziness and fainted at an exhibition site here in December 2022.
The victim was then taken to Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital, where doctors discovered that she was 14 weeks pregnant.
The victim's family filed a police report on Dec 17, 2022, and the accused was arrested three days later.
It was also reported that the victim gave birth on 12 June last year, but the baby was handed over to someone else.
