KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is tracking down two men to assist in its investigation of the corruption and embezzlement case in the registration, recruitment and biometric storage of foreign workers in a ministry.
MACC said it had tried to contact the two men, one a businessman and another a lawyer directly and through their lawyers. However, both have refused to cooperate.
"Checks with the Immigration Department discovered that both suspects left Malaysia on May 17 and May 21, respectively. There is no record of re-entry into this country.
"The first individual, Muhammad Adlan Berhan, 48. His last known address was Lot 65, Sunway Kiara Hills, Jalan 32/70A Desa Sri Hartamas, here.
"The second individual is Mansoor Saat, 69. His last known address is No.5 Jalan SS19/1C Subang Jaya, Selangor," MACC said in the statement.
Adlan is the son-in-law of former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
In February, it was reported that MACC was investigating a former prime minister and his son-in-law about a lucrative government contract.
Muhyiddin then strongly denied any involvement in the awarding of a lucrative government contract to a company supposedly linked to his son-in-law, describing the report as a malicious lie.
