Warehouse manager detained for RM8,000 bribe

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrested a warehouse manager of a convenience store chain company in relation to a RM8,000 bribe.

The man, in his 30's, reportedly solicited and accepted the money from a marketing and sales company manager as an inducement to obtain additional delivery work in October last year in Subang Jaya district.

The man appeared at the Kuala Lumpur MACC headquarters around 3.30pm to have his statements taken before being detained by the graft busters.

Kuala Lumpur MACC director Mohamad Fauzi Husin confirmed the arrest and said that the man is being probed under Section 16(a)(A) of the MACC Act.

"He was then released on a bail of RM10,000 with one surety," he added.
