High Court deputy registrar arrested in Seremban raid gets swift transfer

KUALA LUMPUR: A High Court deputy registrar arrested in a recent raid at an entertainment outlet in Seremban, Negri Sembilan, has been transferred to the Putrajaya office.

In a letter sighted by NST, the Chief Registrar's Office (CRO) approved the transfer, which took effect on Aug 23.

Previously a High Court deputy registrar in Shah Alam, the officer is now a deputy registrar at the CRO's policy and legislation division.

The officer was one of the 17 people, including 15 policemen and a deputy public prosecutor, who were arrested in a raid by the Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS) from Bukit Aman on Sunday.

According to police sources, the 2.30am raid was mounted by the federal police's JIPS team at a karaoke centre at Wisma Punca Emas, Seremban.

Following a drug test, 14 out of the 15 police officers, including a senior police officer, had failed the urine test.

The deputy public prosecutor and high court deputy registrar had also failed the urine test.
