BENTONG: Four men were arrested for allegedly being involved in a brawl at a casino in Genting Highlands here yesterday.
Bentong police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar said that they received a report of the incident at around 4am.
He said the brawl involved a group of 10 individuals aged between 23 and 50.
"Initial investigations revealed that the brawl stemmed from a misunderstanding among those present at the casino.
"Acting on the investigation, the police successfully apprehended four men suspected to be involved in the brawl to assist in the investigation," he said in a statement today.
Zaiham said all four suspects were taken to Bentong Hospital for treatment due to injuries sustained in the brawl, and they were remanded for two days starting from today until tomorrow.
He added that the police are examining closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage at the location and are actively tracking down suspects who are still at large.
"Several recordings of the brawl have also circulated on social media," he said.
He said that the case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code.
