KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor police have confirmed summoning former menteri besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali over the alleged leak of confidential Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) documents.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said Azmin has been summoned to the Shah Alam police headquarters to have his statement recorded under Section 112 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
"The investigation was initiated following a police report lodged on March 14 by an officer working in PKNS.
"The officer alleged that confidential documents had been leaked and some inaccurate information had been disclosed to the public," he added.
Hussein said the matter could tarnish the image and reputation of PKNS, adding that police had so far recorded statements from 15 people.
He advised the public not to speculate on the matter.
The case is being investigated under the Section 203A of the Penal Code.
Yesterday, Azmin had said he had received a notice to have his statement recorded.
