PETALING JAYA: Counsel Fahmi Abd Moin confirmed that the parents of murdered autistic boy Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin will be charged today.
"Yes. Both will be brought (to the Petaling Jaya Court Complex) today and to be charged," he told the New Straits Times.
Asked on which section and Act the couple would be facing, he said: "I cannot reveal anything until I get the confirmation from the deputy public prosecutor."
The couple aged 29 have been under a 13-day remand order to facilitate alleged murder investigations of their son.
Today marks the end of the remand order against the couple, whose son was found dead near a river at their home in Damansara Damai on Dec 6 last year.
The magistrate's court had on June 1 granted a seven day remand order and subsequently a further extension of six days.
Zayn Rayyan's body was found about 200m from the family home by the public who participated in the search operations following a report about his disappearance.
He was confirmed to be killed based on the autopsy conducted which found injuries to his neck and body.
