Man with long criminal record among two arrested after high-speed chase in Johor

SERI ALAM: A man with a long track record of criminal and drug-related offenses was among two people arrested by the police after a high-speed chase along Jalan Tebrau here early today.

The incident began when the police spotted the suspects, aged 28 and 36, acting suspiciously inside a car along Jalan Tebrau.

A chase ensued between the police patrol car and the suspects after they refused to stop their vehicle in the 3.45am incident.

The chase ended some 10km later when the suspects' car skidded and crashed in Jalan Anggerik 19, in Taman Johor Jaya here, which led to their arrests.

District police chief Superintendent Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said preliminary investigations showed both suspects tested positive for methamphetamine.

He also said one of the suspects had past records in 10 criminal offences and 13 drug-related offences.
