KUALA LUMPUR: A 25-year-old woman who was allegedly assaulted by her actor boyfriend earlier this month has withdrawn a police report on the incident.
Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Shahrulnizam Jaafar, confirmed the matter, saying the report was withdrawn last week.
However, the investigation paper on the case has been submitted to the deputy public prosecutor (DPP).
"We are awaiting further instructions," he said.
Asked if the case would be closed or resolved amicably after the victim withdrew her report, Shahrulnizam said it was up to the DPP.
On July 7, a woman claimed she was assaulted by her actor boyfriend, 37, in Ara Damansara at 3am after a misunderstanding.
The victim was allegedly punched in the face and body.
On July 10, the suspect had his statement recorded. He was not detained.
The police also recorded statements from the victim and her sister.
The case is being probed under the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
