PETALING JAYA: Police have recorded a statement from the actor who was alleged to have assaulted his girlfriend on Saturday.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Shahrulnizam Ja'afar said the 37-year-old had cooperated with police.
He said the actor arrived at the district police headquarters about 9pm on Wednesday, accompanied by his father.
"Apart from the actor, we have also recorded a statement from the complainant's (alleged victim) elder sister.
"The investigation papers will be submitted to the deputy public prosecutors soon, and we will await further instructions from them," he said.
It was reported that the actor had allegedly assaulted his 25-year-old girlfriend early Sunday in Ara Damansara.
The woman lodged a police report over the incident in the evening.
On Wednesday, it was reported that police had contacted the actor but did not receive any response from him.
