Mother of 3 pleads not guilty to CBT involving over RM580,000

BUTTERWORTH: A 35-year-old woman has pleaded not guilty at the Magistrates Court here to 28 charges of criminal breach of trust (CBT) involving RM580,000.

Fatin Atikah Abdul Halim, a former Mihasi Enterprise (M) Sdn Bhd account and administrative executive, is accused of transferring RM581,492.45 in stages from the company's account to her personal account between April 2022 and June last year.

The mother of three was charged under Section 408 of the Penal Code for CBT. If found guilty, she faces up to 14 years in jail and a fine.

Fatin's lawyer, Ahmad Mukmin Aimi Azmi appealed for a lower bail as his client needed to look after the family and her husband's RM1,500 monthly salary as a lorry driver.

Magistrate Noor Aini Yusof set bail at RM75,000.

Case remention was set for Aug 23.

The prosecution was handled by Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohammad Syafiq Nasrullah Saleem Ali.
