Man charged with scaring wife, chasing her with scissors in hand

MELAKA: A mortuary worker pleaded not guilty to scaring his wife by chasing her while holding a pair of scissors.

The accused, Mohd Ridzuan Mohd Fauzi, 34, made the plea before magistrate Khairunnisak Hassni at the Ayer Keroh magistrate's court today.

He requested a trial after the charge was read under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.

Ridzuan is accused of scaring his wife, Siti Najira Abdul Sahak, 39, at an apartment in Kota Laksamana on July 20, around 8.30pm.

Deputy public prosecutor Wardah Ishhar prosecuted, while the accused was represented by lawyer Izzuddin Ab Malek.

Khairunnisak allowed Ridzuan to be released on bail of RM3,000. He is also prohibited from bothering Siti Najira.

The court fixed Aug 29 for re-mention.
