ALOR STAR: A Myanmar natinal was charged with the murder of his wife and two young children at two separate magistrate's courts here today.
No plea was recorded from the accused, Abdu Gapur Doli Ahmad, 43, when the charges for the murder of his wife and youngest child were read before magistrate Siti Norhidayah Mohd Noor.
The father of three allegedly killed his wife, Nor Begam Md Yasin, 34, behind an abandoned building in Lebuhraya Sultan Abdul Halim between 11.30am on Aug 18 and 12.30am the next day.
He is also charged with the murder of his youngest child, 11-month-old Abdul Hakim, in front of a hardware premises in Lorong Tunku Muhammad in Jalan Pegawai here, about 12.45am on Aug 19.
The accused was later charged before magistrate Nur Syifa Mohd Hamzah with the murder of his eldest child, Lianaata, 10, at the same location where her mother was killed, between 11.30am on Aug 18 and 12.30am the next day.
The murder charges were framed under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carry the death penalty or a minimum of 30 years in jail, upon conviction.
At the same court, Gapur, who holds a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees card, pleaded guilty to illegally administrating amphetamine, methamphetamine and morphine into his body.
He had committed the offence at the Kota Setar police headquarters' Narcotic Investigation Division about 1.50am on Aug 20.
Deputy Public Prosecutor J. Banusha and police prosecution officer Inspector M. Kaneson prosecuted the cases while the accused was not represented.
Both courts did not offer bail on the accused.
The court subsequently fixed Nov 26 for case mention pending post-mortem reports.
Abdu Gapur's five-year old son, who is unharmed, is currently under the care of the Welfare Services Department.
