GEORGE TOWN: A man with a track record for six criminal and drug-related cases was among three people arrested by the police on suspicion of drug trafficking on Saturday.
The two other people arrested during the 5pm raid on a house in Simpang Ampat here are foreign domestic helpers, aged between 29 and 44.
State police chief Datuk Hamzah Ahmad said police also seized various types of drugs and a fake pistol during the raid.
"Among the items seized during the raid were various drugs including Eramin 5, Ketamine, Ecstasy and Methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA), as well as items suspected to be drug paraphernalia.
"Police found a fake pistol along with a bottle containing plastic balls and also discovered a knuckle shaped like a knife," he said today.
He said his urine test on the 44-year-old male suspect came back positive for various drugs.
"As for the two women, they have no previous records and possess valid travel documents. Their urine tests were negative.
"All three suspects have been remanded for a week until Aug 3 for investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952," he said.
Hamzah said the male suspect is also being investigated under Section 36 of the Arms Act 1960 and Section 7(1)(a) of the Explosives Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958.
