KULAI: A 31-year-old man who is a suspect in the kidnapping of a six-year-old girl has been remanded for six days following his rearrest for possession of child pornography.
Kulai Magistrate Azureen Sahira Sauffe Afandi issued the remand order today.
The man will be held in custody to facilitate investigations under Section 10 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 and Section 292 of the Penal Code.
Yesterday, it was reported that police found various sex toys, adult pornography, and child sexual abuse materials at the man's home in Kulai.
Johor police chief Commissioner M. Kumar said the motive for the girl's abduction has not been established, but investigators are now taking a closer look at the man following the discovery of child pornography and sex toys in his home.
They are not ruling out the possibility that the suspect is allegedly involved in a child pornography ring on the Dark Web.
