Police open investigation on magic mushrooms vaping among students

JOHOR BARU: The police will investigate the addiction to vapes containing magic mushrooms, which are easily accessible among students.

Johor police chief Commissioner M. Kumar said there were yet to be any report regarding the use of magic mushrooms received by police.

"I saw an article in Berita Harian mentioning this issue. I have instructed the head of the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department to conduct surveillance and gather more information.

"I also urge anyone with information to provide it through the department's hotline at 012 2087222.

"The police assure that informants will be kept confidential. Efforts are being made to identify and take appropriate action," he told a press conference at the Johor police headquarters today.

Previously, it was reported there are valid concerns on the increasing number of students addicted to the magic mushroom vape-juices which are easily accessible.

Magic mushrooms, which are also commonly known as shrooms contain psilocybin chemicals, which causes hallucinations.
