Police receive report on viral video of sexual harassment claim in Kota Damansara

PETALING JAYA: The police have confirmed receiving a report on a video of an alleged sexual harassment at a supermarket in Kota Damansara.

The 18-second video, which was posted on TikTok, claimed that a woman was being harassed by a man she knew.

District police chief assistant commissioner Shahrulnizam Ja'afar confirmed that a report was received from a local woman in her 20s on Aug 6.

He said the woman claimed she was sexually harassed twice by the suspect at the premises.

Investigation is being carried out under Section 507A and 509 of the Penal Code, for stalking and insulting modesty, he said.

As a result, a local male holding a non-executive position at a statutory body has been identified as a suspect, he said.

He also urged those with information on the case to call PJ police headquarters command centre 03-7966 2222.
