KUALA LUMPUR: The session to record the statement by former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has been postponed to tomorrow.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the process to record Muhyiddin's statement was postponed as Muhyiddin's lawyer was unable to accompany his client today.
"We were informed by his lawyer that he was still in Thailand and to postpone the statement recording process to tomorrow.
"As such it will be held tomorrow at 11am at the same location," he said when contacted today.
It was reported that police were supposed to question Muhyiddin on Tuesday for allegedly touching on 3R (race, religion, royalty) issues during the recent Nenggiri by-election.
There are currently 30 reports lodged against Muhyiddin, involving investigations under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act, and Section 504 of the Penal Code.
Muhyiddin, who is Perikatan Nasional chairman, had allegedly questioned the sovereignty of Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah when he was the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Muhyiddin claimed he had the support of 115 members of parliament after the 15th General Election and the King should have called him to be sworn in as the 10th prime minister.
Yesterday, Tengku Mahkota of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah urged the police to take action against Muhyiddin for allegedly touching on 3R issues.
