TUMPAT: A man was arrested in a raid here recently for allegedly possessing about RM560,000 worth of unregistered cosmetic products.
Kelantan Customs director Wan Jamal Abdul Salam Wan Long today said the raid was carried out on a house in Kampung Bunuhan on Aug 18.
He said it was carried out by the department and the General Operations Force.
"The team raided the house after receiving information about the house being used as a store to keep the products.
"Officers discovered boxes containing the cosmetic products. They then detained a man."
Wan Jamal said the products were believed to have been smuggled into Kelantan via illegal border jetties.
"We suspect the house was a transit point used by smugglers before the products were sent to buyers."
