Bank Rakyat stops possible data breach

KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Rakyat has successfully contained a possible data infringement incident that may involve some customer information, thanks to its proactive measures.

The bank emphasised its commitment to transparency and notified customers accordingly.

"In the meantime, we strongly advise customers to remain vigilant against phishing tactics and other potential threats," it said in a statement today.

In response to the infringement, Bank Rakyat reported the incident to the relevant authorities and assured its customers, business partners, and stakeholders that all business operations remain fully functional.

The bank reiterated that the integrity and security of customer data remain its top priorities.

At the same time, the bank urged customers to immediately contact Bank Rakyat's Contact Centre at 1-300800800 or 03-55269200 or the National Scam Response Centre at 997 to report any suspicious activities.
